Oh, Amelia. How you surprise me every single time. I can’t tell you how much I love the Morelli family, especially Daphne. I had chills the entire time while reading this book. The way that Amelia writes, immediately grabs your attention and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time is unparalleled. I absolutely loved the pace of this book and how much of a slow burn the story was. Emerson is very intriguing. We don’t really know that much about him but what I did gather was that he was cold, distant, obsessive, secretive, he keeps to himself, and is definitely possessive. He also gives off some pretty creepy vibes, which didn’t bother me one bit. As for Daphne, she’s part of the Morelli family but completely different from all of her siblings. Unlike her siblings, Daphne wants to make a name for herself. She definitely doesn’t care about money or being the next big socialite. She was very easy to understand and relate to. The connection and chemistry between these two from the very beginning was entrancing. I’m really excited to see where things go. We’ve been getting slight hints here and there about what might be going on but the way things ended left me speechless and unsure of what’s to come. Being back in the Midnight Dynasty world makes my heart so happy. This series of books and the families in them have become one of my all time favorites. There’s so much to grab ahold of in each of these books and Dark Reign is no different.
