Noelle Charlston lives a fairy-tale life: a doting father, a powerful job, and a future blessed with financial security.
However, two meetings with two men changes her happy existence forever. First, she meets the man who makes her heart sing. Three years later, she meets the man who makes her blood quiver.
Broken-hearted from a teenage romance, Noelle’s freedom is no longer hers. It belongs to the stranger her father believes is her perfect match. The stranger who pulls his lies over everyone he touches.
Including her.
Seduced and manipulated, Noelle gives into the mysterious Penn Everett. The lies he spins, the truth he hides, the mystery he weaves – it’s all enough to slowly erode the woman she is and turn her into something else.
Until her past collides with her present.
And it’s her turn to lie.
To everyone…including herself.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
And another great read from Pepper Winters! It seems to me that anytime I read a book by Pepper Winters I have to take it in small chunks. No matter how much I want to speed read, or in this case listen, to her books I have to take it slow. I always know I’m in for a treat when reading her books. They’re always a captivating read that leaves me on the edge of my seat every single time. And this book was no different. Noelle (Elle) and Penn are unlike any other main characters I’ve ever met before and they are not what I expected at all. From the very beginning of this book I thought it was going in one direction but it did a complete 360 not even halfway through the book and continued to surprise me every step of the way. I really don’t want to say too much more because I feel like I’ll give something away but I can’t wait to see where things go again in part two. I have my suspicions but I know Pepper Winters will surprise me until the very end. So far, it’s not as dark as I thought it was going to be, but it’s edgy and mysterious. I highly recommend reading this book, especially listening to it on audio, if you love Pepper Winter’s writing. It’s intriguing, very well written and lyrical. The audio of this book made me appreciate it even more. I loved the job that Kylie Stewart and Eric Rolon did!

Fantastic review! I have heard only amazing things about this author but haven’t had a chance to read any of her work yet.. I’ll definitely have to change that.
Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you!! She’s definitely not for the faint of heart but this one, in my option, is much more tame then some of her other books. I would give her a try!

You’re very welcome! I read some pretty brutal stuff so I think I’ll like this author quite a bit. I’ve been curious about her ‘Monsters in the Dark’ series, I just haven’t had a chance to read it yet.. now I think I might start with this one.
Thanks! Have a lovely week!
