Hard To Love by W. Winters
Publication Date: August 20th 2019
She was too good for this world. I was too much of a bastard to push her away.
I grew up in this life, and now I run these streets. Blood and violence taint everything I touch.
Everything but her. She was my constant through it all.
Just a touch would singe and soothe.
Just a look would tempt and torment.
She became my escape and my addiction.
I only survived because she was by my side.
I should’ve known better than to indulge.
I should’ve known better than to let her fall for me.
It was only a matter of time before the danger bled into what we had.
I was Laura’s downfall. Problem was, she was mine too.

Book one in the Hard to Lover series and I can’t wait to dive into book two. First let me start off by saying I have been dying to read this book for so long. It has been hanging out in my kindle library for a VERY long time. I have been so caught up with ARCs I haven’t had the time to actually pick it up. Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to receive the audiobook for this to write a review. So, typical me, I kicked all the other ARCs to the side and dove head first into this book.
This book is an amazing start to a wonderful series. I mean this book is totally up my alley. A deliciously dark man, suspenseful, steamy scenes and lots of passion. Laura and Seth are one of my favorite Willow couples (a VERY close second to Carter and Aria). Everything about them makes me swoon and also makes me so anxious. Seth King. HOLY MOLEY Seth King. You delicious, delicious man. Seth is EVERYTHING. Charming, sexy, domineering, and puts up with NO bullshit. I knew I was done for when he called Laura Babygirl. All it took was an instint I knew I was in trouble. Carter, you should be worried. Seth may end up taking your spot! Laura is so sweet, very likeable, relatable, strong and yet she has had a hell of a ride. Her life is not easy and even though she has Seth, she doesn’t want to be dependent on him. She’s now on my list of favorite heroines and someone I aspire to be like when tough times come around. Unbelievably resilient and ready to make any tough decisions necessary no matter how things may turn out for her. Laura and Seth. Oh My God!! I LOVED these two. I couldn’t help myself but read/listen to this book in one sitting. I was hard not to, so I just read it all at once.
Audio:
While reading this book, I listened to the audiobook as well. With Joe Arden and Samantha Cook as the narrators, boy howdy, I’m impressed. What a great team. Both do such a great job portraying Seth and Laura. I can no longer picture anyone else’s voices as them. They compelled me with the emotion and strength they put into each character. I will forever be grateful for Joe Arden’s wonderful voice and Samantha Cook is one of my favorite voice actors! I so enjoy reading Willow’s books via audiobook. It just makes the experience even better for me!
Overall, this book is emotional and it hurts. But it also feels so good. Willow Winters really knows how to pull me into a story and fall head over heels in love with her characters. She has an unbelievable talent with words to make me feel EVERYTHING! That ending, man, that ending had me on the edge of my seat and made me needy and greedy for the rest.
Here we go book two, I’m diving in.
Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
I received the Audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

About Willow:

Willow Winters is so happy to be a USA Today, Wall Street Journal and #1 Contemporary Best Selling Author!
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
