In this dual POV book we follow Daniel (Dr. Dan) and Lauren. Daniel is an ER doctor who loves to help people and gives them the best possible care so when Lauren shows up with severe abdominal pain, Daniel wants to find out what’s hurting her. I really liked both Daniel and Lauren and they seemed to compliment each other. One thing that really bugged me was Lauren’s fear to find out what was going on with her. God, did I want to shake her and tell her she needed to get help with whatever was going on. With a 27 year age gap, this taboo relationship isn’t going to phase them with the way they feel for each other.
Overall I liked this book but I feel like it was missing something for me. It seemed more fluffy than what I was expecting. Though we have some taboo parts, the plot focused more on the support and love that these two have for each other in their time of need. This was an insta-love book due to the nature of their situation and that really rushed the book. I really liked both characters and the overall story, but I have to give this one ⭐️⭐️⭐ stars as it was lacking something for me.
I received this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
