Devious Lies by Parker S. Huntington
Publication Date: December 14th, 2019
From USA Today bestselling author Parker S. Huntington comes an enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn romance full of revenge and a dash of fate.
“She could enjoy her pretty, perfect world a little longer. Soon enough, everything she owned would be mine.”
I had a plan to escape the friend zone.
Step one: sneak into Reed’s room.
Step two: sleep with him.
But when the lights turned on, it wasn’t familiar blue eyes I saw.
These were dark, angry, and full of demons.
And they belonged to Reed’s much older brother.
Four years later, Nash Prescott is no longer the help’s angry son.
I’m no longer the town’s prized princess.
At twenty-two, I’m broke, in need of a job.
At thirty-two, he’s a billionaire, in need of revenge.
Who cares if my family ruined his?
Who cares if he looks at me with pure loathing?
Who cares if every task he assigns me is designed to torture?
I need the money.
Simple as that.
I’ll suffer his cruelty in silence, knowing there’s one thing he wants more than revenge…
Note: This is a 145,000-word standalone in the Cruel Crown world. Welcome to Eastridge. Enter if you dare.
Parker S. Huntington, welcome to my list of favorite authors!
HOLY SHIT. THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING, UNFORGETTABLE, AND BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN. I can’t contain my love and enjoyment for this book. How in the world am I JUST reading Parker S. Huntington for the first time? It’s addictive, angsty and I am truly impressed with everything about this read.
All the characters that we met were great. If I liked or didn’t like a specific character, I thought they fit perfectly into this book making every character memorable for me. Both Nash and Emery (our main characters) will be ones that I will never forget about. There’s now a permanent stamp with their names imprinted on my bookish brain.
Have you ever read a book and it leaves you speechless? This is what this book did to me. It took me a week to get all my thoughts into coherent sentences. Overall, I think this book is fabulous. Is this book long as hell? Yes. Does it need to be this long? No, absolutely not. But, did I appreciate the length, attention to detail and description? HELL YES! I love a good slow burn, angsty, enemies-to-lovers read. This hit all the ticks for me. It had solid writing, great detail and description and overall sucked me right into the Eastridge world. I honestly think that this is going to end up on my favorite reads for 2020.
No doubt about it that this is a SOLID ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐!
