Verity by Colleen Hoover
Publication Date: December 7, 2018
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.
A standalone romantic thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover.

This book. Man, this book really fucked me up. Honestly, what did I read? I’m sitting here staring at the wall, not sure what to do, say or think. Nothing in this book goes at a steady pace. It’s like a toddler. You’re never quite sure what their mood will be or what they may do next. It’s like you think you know a character and then, BAM, something happens and you start questioning what you know and what you’ve read. Anything I thought might happen, went in the total opposite and really twisted and messed up way.
And that ending!! Are you kidding me?
I am not going into detail on anything for a reason and its best if you just read this one for yourself. Go in with an open mind and a fresh and clean slate.
The overall flow of this book was fantastic, it was beautifully written and hooked me right in from the first page. I knew that this was going to be one of my most favorite reads of the year and it will for sure be on my end of the year list. I highly, highly recommend this psychological thriller to anyone. A friend, a family member, a stranger on the side of the road, and maybe even a cat. Anyone who will listen to me. I will forever sing it’s praises.
