   I only dislike one of them and that is bad repetition of the mentally ill in a romance. I really love most of the others.

   Oh my god, so many of these are just freaking atrocious. The worst is the sibling’s or friend’s ex-spouse, ESPECIALLY if the sibling/friend is dead. It is just… meh. Terrible depiction of mental health and secret baby are two others I hate. I really like marriage of convenience, though, haha – but mostly in historical romance, as it generally makes more sense there. Great list!

      Right!! Oh my, I just read on with a siblings widowed spouse and I was like NO, why are we doing this? You know I am really reluctant to read historical romances, besides Jane Austen. I should probably give them a try, I just don’t know where to start. Thank you!!

   Totallly agree re: Insta-Love and it being the worst. I also can’t deal with love triangles that involves siblings, like ugh your relationship is more important than any love interest. And yes of course re: bad depiction of mental illness.

   I love these least favorite tropes posts, for some reason. I guess I like complaining? xD I’m with you there with insta-love. I don’t mind insta-attraction, obviously, and I’m sometimes totally down for the “I feel a sudden pull towards this person like we’re meant to be for some reason,” but only if it comes with an actual explanation for it. Mental illness as a plot device annoys me when it’s used simply as a barrier that needs to be overcome in order for the characters to achieve happiness, and then in the end, it is overcome and they live happily ever after. Like, that’s not how this works. Great choices!

      Right! It was so fun to do, but I like to complain as well ☺️ Oh absolutely, insta-attraction I’m down for too because it can happen. But yeah insta-love bothers me sooo much. Like I know were reading but that’s just not realistic and not something I wanna read about. You cut out half of the story if you do it that way. Yes, mental illness as a barrier is just so wrong and totally uncalled for. Thank you!!

   I AM CHEERING. YES TO ALL OF THESE. Insta-love is so frustrating. Secret children are a no-go. AND amnesia ??? NO THANK YOU. Gosh, there are so many terrible tropes out there and sometimes I forget about them and then they sneak up on me and it’s the absolute freaking worst! Great topic choice.

   I hate the ‘ugly duckling’ trope most of all because really the heroine is contact lenses and a makeover away from being gorgeous but she has 0% self-esteem and is a total dowdy plain jane. It feels very artificial for women who actually aren’t all that attractive like me. 😛
