Top Ten Tuesday︱ Outrageous Things I’ve Done for the Love of Books

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday. The Top Ten Tuesday Meme was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This weeks prompt is Outrageous Things I’ve Done for the Love of Books. I don’t think I have done really outrageous things for books, most of these are just really funny things that I have done and will probably do again in the future for my love of books.

  1. Camped outside a bookstore.
  2. Stayed up way to late on a work night.
  3. Forgotten to eat.
  4. Came up with multiple lame excuses so I didn’t have to hang out with friends or go to a family event so I could read instead.
  5. Got up in the middle of the night or got up really early to finish a book.
  6. Read while I should be working or coaching.
  7. Been on a long wait list at the library to read a book.
  8. Make a list of all the books I own so I don’t buy multiple copies.
  9. Bring my phone in the bathroom to continue to listen to an audiobook while in the shower.
  10. Stay in my car when I got to my destination just to finish a chapter in an audiobook.
  11. The most outrageous thing I’ve done was started a book blog!!

What outrageous things have you done for the love of books?

I’ve forgotten to eat while reading, too.

Great list. I’ve came up with excuses to keep reading too. I can’t help it sometimes.

Haha Staying up late is something I am guilty of too! But in my defense, that book was extremely addicting and I was way too invested that I had the urge to find out what happened! There were other moments where I had neck and back pain and one time I did forget to turn off the stove. Yeah, my mind was completely distracted!
    Great post btw! 🙂

I totally agree. Sometimes the book is so good you just need to know that happens!! Yes, I have neck and back pain all the time. I sit in the strangest positions. Totally forgot about that. Oh my!! Can’t say I’ve forgotten to turn off the stove, but I’m sure one day I will lol 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you!!

Exactly! and This is pretty hilarious that a lot of us bloggers experience the same things! It makes me feel so much better! LOL And no worries! I learned from the first time to be more mindful of the stove haha That will definitely not be happening again. And no problem! Looking forward to see more of your posts! 🙂

It’s so funny. It feels good not to be the only one doing those things. I found it best not to read while cooking! I just would rather avoid any problems like that happening because I would probably burn the house down lol!! Thank you! I can’t wait to read more of your posts as well. 👏🏻😊

Great post! I have a bad problem with reading too late when I have to get up early, or losing sleep because I just want to read the next chapter! 6 and 9 are also really relatable to me too! https://racheleanne.wordpress.com/2019/04/09/first-ten-books-i-reviewed-top-ten-tuesday-april-2019/

It’s such a problem for me because I’m so grouchy in the morning when I wake up after not getting enough sleep. But sometimes you need to know what happens!
