My 2019 Reading Resolutions

The end of January is just around the corner and I have been wanting to make a post about what my 2019 goals are for reading. When I saw that one of my favorite book bloggers Jenn at (https://jenniely.com/) was doing the 2019 Reading Resolutions tag, I wanted to join in and put my resolutions on here so I can hold myself accountable. Last year I kept track of all of the books I read via the Goodreads reading challenge. While I will be doing the same thing for this year, I thought it might be interesting to be specific about what I would like to read.

1. An Author You’d Like To Read That You’ve Never Read

I am really excited to a book by Meghan March (https://meghanmarch.com/). I have heard so many good things about her books and how addictive she makes her characters. I already have two of her books in the queue for this year I cannot wait to read them!

2. A Book You’d Like To Read

This could be such a long list. I have so many books that I would like to read. But for the purpose of this post, I will choose only one.

Storm and Fury (The Harbinger #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

This is a 2019 new release coming out in June. Jennifer is one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to read this book!

3. A Book You’d Like To Re-Read

I would love to re-read The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy by Jenny Han! I read these books as a recommendation from one of my friends (Hi Gabby! 🙂 ) when we was in high school. She basically shoved the book in my hands and said “You need to read this, it’s amazing!” So I did and I fell in love with these books. So I would love to go back and see if I still feel the same way again.

4. A Book You’ve Had For Ages and Want To Read

I would like to read the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. I got the box set on a trip to Barnes and Nobles with my Husband a while ago and it has been collecting dust on my bookshelf and think it’s time to be read!

5. A Big Book You’d Like To Read

A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin has 694 pages in it! That is a big, but also sounds good to me, considering the average page size I tend to read is somewhere near 350-300 pages.

6. An Author You’ve Previously Read and Would Like To Read More Of

Michelle St. James! I have only read one of her books and I blew through it. I have most of her books on my lists to read.

7. A Book You Got For Christmas and Would Like To Read

The Complete Tales of Winnie-the-Pooh (The Barnes & Noble Collectible Edition) by A. A. Milne. I only got two books for Christmas and one is a cookbook. The other was this book and I have been obsessed with Winnie-the-Pooh since I was little. It was such a sweet gift for my husband to gift me!

8. A Series You Want To Read From Start to Finish

I have started reading The Chronicles of Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis. I will be reading these books in narrative chronological order (save the eye rolls please)!

9. A Series You Want To Finish That You’ve Already Started

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Is it bad that I am probably the only person in the world who has watched every single movie about 10 times each and I STILL haven’t finished reading all of the books yet!!

10. Do You Set Reading Goals? If So, How Many Books Do You Want To Read in 2018?

I would really love to read 60 books this year. I was only 5 away last year, so I think it is pretty feasible.

11. Any Other Reading Goals?

I would also like to read books from more diverse authors. Whether that be race, sexual orientation, or even neuro-divergent.

I am excited to see what this year has to offer and I can’t wait to read more. I’d love to hear what your reading goal are for 2019. Leave a comment down below with your goals!
