It’s release day for Of Heartbreak and Harmony by Brit Benson! Grab it in KU!
He burned me once.
This time, I won’t be the one consumed by the flames.
Torren King is rock-and-roll’s broodiest bachelor.
Mysterious, moody, and coveted by nearly everyone.
But to me, he’s just the sad boy who set fire to my heart,
then reduced me to ashes in the desert.
For four sweltering nights, I burned for him,
and he conquered my heart one whispered lyric at a time.
But on the fifth night, he shattered me in the way only a flawless rock god can:
irreparably, and with devastating finesse.
Four years later, the last place I expect to be is sitting before him,
reading through a contact with a pen poised in my fingertips.
A favor for a favor, he says.
A US tour and a fake relationship in exchange for the answer to all my problems.
I hate him. I hate that I need him.
And what I hate the most?
He doesn’t remember me. At all.
But despite the burning chemistry between us,
the rapidly blurring lines and the suffocating attraction,
he’s still the rock star who ruined me,
and I refuse to let myself forget.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
“Torren King is gorgeous in a way that makes my throat feel parched, my tongue lolling about like a dehydrated sponge in my mouth.”
She’s done it yet again!
I really took my sweet time with this one. And man oh man, I did not wait to finish it. From the first chapter, let’s be honest the first page, I was hooked. I don’t know what kind of catnip Brit uses while writing her books, because I really eat them up EVERY SINGLE TIME. The story and characters are so beautifully crafted, well thought out, and the writing itself is impeccable.
Torren and Callie are really something special. Honestly, I was very skeptical about Torren before I started reading this book and a few times throughout the book I was on the fence. But the amount of heartache I felt for him completely outweighed any negative feelings I had toward him. Callie, my sweet sweet Callie. I adored her. She’s a feisty little thing that REALLY makes Torren work for it, as he should. These two really go through it. It’s a tough story, but honestly I like to have my feeling hurt while reading. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I’m an emotional reader and if the book doesn’t make me feel anything, for me it’s no good. This one gave me ALL THE FEELS.
I will shout it from the rooftops and suggest her to anyone who asks me for a recommendation. Brit Benson is ALWAYS one of the first authors I recommend. So if you haven’t read her yet. DO IT. That’s not a suggestion, it’s a demand 🫡🫡 You’ll thank me later.
About the Author:
Brit Benson writes real, relatable romance novels that depict epic love. She likes outspoken, independent heroines, dirty-talking, love-struck heroes, and plots that tug on every emotion.
Brit would almost always rather be reading or writing. When she’s not dreaming up her next swoony book boyfriend and fierce book bestie, she’s getting lost in someone else’s fictional world. When she’s not doing that, she’s probably marathoning a Netflix series or wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles in Homegoods, sniffing candles, and touching things she’ll never buy.
Brit currently resides somewhere near the Blue Ridge Parkway with her husband, daughters, dogs, and an obscene number of books.
