Dante Sinclair never cared about his family’s money. All the young billionaire ever wanted was to be a cop; and now that he’s a homicide detective in Los Angeles, he’s a damn good one. But when he is injured and loses his partner in the line of duty, he returns to his vacation home in Amesport, Maine, to recover.

Sarah Baxter, a brilliant young doctor still struggling with her stifled upbringing, has recently moved from Chicago to sleepy Amesport to escape her past, hoping to find peace. When Sarah is assigned to Dante’s case, there’s an instant heat between them. They couldn’t possibly be more different, yet their igniting passion is impossible to ignore. As new feelings awaken within Sarah, her haunted past returns, threatening her once again. But can Dante overcome his grief and discover the secrets Sarah is hiding in time to protect and rescue her?

I picked this up on a whim via Kindle Unlimited (I’m trying it out again as I had it before and I’m really enjoying it right now) that came as both an e-book and on Audible. Elizabeth Powers is such a perfect narrator for this book. I don’t think I could envision anybody else reading for this book. I loved her voices she had for each character and she really helped set the scene and paint a picture of what was actually happening in the story.

Boy have I been sucked in. The Sinclair family has taken me by the wrist and not let go. I am in love with this story. I found every part of it relatable, true and right from the heart. I appreciated and loved the relationship between Sarah and Dante from the second we are introduced to the both of them. Sarah (hey girl we have the same name) is an intelligent Doctor who didn’t know how to have fun and let loose. She was brought up to study, work hard and get a great job as soon as possible. Dante on the other hand is a billionaire who doesn’t give a hoot about money and only has a real passion for his job as a homicide detective in Los Angeles. For unforeseen, circumstances both end up in the Amesport, Maine

If you are not into very steamy sex scenes in books then I suggest that you steer clear from this series. Hello description and hello passion. JS Scott really knows how to bring those kind of scenes to life. It is honestly amazing.

I have said this time and time again, if an author can make me envision what is happening in my own mind while I am reading I know I am reading a great book. J.S.Scott is a great storyteller she knows just the right amount of details that you need to understand what’s going on in any given story. I one-hundred percent think I am obsessed with the Sinclair family and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
